A famous specialty of the ancient capital of Hue, made from fermented shrimp (a type of small shrimp), with a distinctive rich and savory flavor. This product is bright red or dark purple, with a strong, stimulating aroma, and a spicy, savory flavor, very typical of Central cuisine.

Hue shrimp paste is made from carefully selected fresh shrimp, then salted and fermented for a certain period of time. The long processing time helps the paste to be thick, sticky and viscous, not only preserving the natural flavor of the shrimp but also bringing the perfect combination of the saltiness of the salt and the sweetness of fresh shrimp.
